Punjab Flood Crisis 30 Lives Lost, 3.5 Lakh Hit Governor, CM Inspect Affected Zones
On Tuesday, the Punjab government declared all 23 districts as flood-hit, reporting 30 deaths and over 3.5 lakh people affected. Over 1.4 Lakh Hectares Crops Destroyed; NDRF, Armed Forces Intensify Rescue Operations in Punjab
The minister stated that 1,48,590 hectares of standing crops have been destroyed, with Gurdaspur, Mansa, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, and Hoshiarpur being the worst affectedAccording to Mundian, 23 NDRF teams are operating in the flood-hit districts, while the Army, Air Force, and Navy have deployed 12 columns, two engineer columns, and about 35 helicopters for rescue and relief efforts. The BSF is also extending ground support in border areas. Additionally, 114 boats and a state helicopter are being used for evacuations and delivering relief supplies.
