The NIA’s probe into Jat’s bank accounts revealed that he allegedly received ₹1.90 lakh between October 2023 and April 2025 from a Pakistani Intelligence Operative (PIO) codenamed Salim Ahmed. Investigators found that the funds moved through his and his wife’s bank accounts by exploiting loopholes in legitimate systems. Including trade-based money laundering, illegal foreign exchange trading, and parallel domestic money transfer networks.

Officials confirmed that these networks often function through unsuspecting small businesses and service providers who unknowingly become conduits. One channel, according to investigators, involved international trade in commodities such as clothing, jewellery, seeds, and footwear. After analysing three suspicious transactions in Jat’s account. The NIA discovered that Pakistan-made luxury suits were supplied to India through small boutique owners in Delhi and Patna.
