The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the targeted killing of 68-year-old Darshan Singh Sahsi in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Sahsi, originally from Ludhiana, served as President of Canam International, a leading clothing recycling firm. Gang member Goldie Dhillon posted on social media that Sahsi refused to pay an extortion demand and was allegedly involved in drug trafficking. The gang accused him of blocking their communication and ignoring payment requests.

Details of the Attack on Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
Investigators revealed the shooter waited in a parked car near Sahsi’s residence. When Sahsi entered his vehicle, the assailant opened fire and fled immediately. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and digital evidence to identify the gunman and his associates. Authorities emphasized the calculated and premeditated nature of the attack, linking it to organized gang activity in Canada.
Canada recently listed the Lawrence Bishnoi gang as a terrorist entity, granting law enforcement powers to freeze assets, seize property, and prosecute offences related to financing, recruitment, and travel. This designation allows authorities to access specialized investigative tools to disrupt gang operations nationwide.

Subsequent Shootings by the Gang
Undeterred by the terrorist listing, the gang carried out drive-by shootings at three establishments in Surrey. The attacks targeted a restaurant chain owner and rival business locations. Dhillon publicly claimed responsibility, sharing addresses of the attacked sites in Maple Ridge and South Surrey on social media.
Dhillon is a notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang member, wanted by India’s National Investigation Agency for extortion, drug trafficking, and targeted killings. He previously claimed responsibility for a shooting at Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Canada. Authorities continue to monitor the gang to prevent further attacks and dismantle its international network.
