    PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi said the board will decide on Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup 2026 on January 30 (Friday) or February 2 (Monday).

    Naqvi shared the update on X after meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, saying the discussion focused on the ICC matter. He said he briefed the Prime Minister on the issue, and Sharif advised the PCB to resolve it while keeping all options open. Naqvi added that both sides agreed to take the final call on participation on either Friday or next Monday.

    The ICC barred Bangladesh from the T20 World Cup 2026 after the team refused to travel to India for the tournament and later replaced them with Scotland. At the ICC meeting, 14 of the 16 member nations voted against Bangladesh’s position, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) standing as the only board to support the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

    Since Bangladesh’s removal, Pakistan have repeatedly indicated that they could take a similar drastic step in solidarity with Bangladesh. The issue has now escalated further, with PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi involving Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the matter.

    Pakistan hint at drastic T20 World Cup 2026 decision, reject India final

    In a video on his YouTube channel, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif urged Pakistan to boycott matches against India in the T20 World Cup 2026. Addressing the possibility of an India–Pakistan final, Latif said the Men in Green should refuse to play that match as well.PCB president Mohsin Naqvi has reportedly called out the ICC for double standards after it approved the BCCI’s request for a neutral venue for the 2025 Champions Trophy but rejected a similar request from Bangladesh.

    Rahane doubts Pakistan will boycott T20 World Cup or skip India clash

    In an interaction with Cricbuzz, former India star Ajinkya Rahane said Pakistan lack the courage to boycott the T20 World Cup 2026 or skip their scheduled match against India on February 15.
