Governor Rajendra Arlekar said the two-language policy will continue in Tamil Nadu during the first Assembly session of the new government.
The Assembly session marks the first Governor’s address under the leadership of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. The government is expected to outline its development plans and priorities for the coming years.
Meanwhile, DMK legislators led by Udhayanidhi Stalin staged a protest outside the Assembly. The leaders raised slogans against the TVK government and highlighted concerns related to law and order in the state.
The TVK emerged as the single-largest party in the Assembly election by winning 108 seats. The party later secured support from Congress, VCK, Left parties, and IUML to form the government and successfully passed the floor test.
The Assembly session is expected to witness key policy discussions and debates. Political observers will closely watch how the new government implements its agenda and addresses opposition concerns.
