Russian Strikes Cause Heavy Damage In Kyiv Region
Russian forces resumed drone attacks on the Kyiv region for the second consecutive day. The strikes hit several apartment buildings, warehouses and other civilian properties. Kyiv regional military administration chief Tymur Tkachenko said the attacks damaged 14 warehouses, 16 private homes, three apartment buildings and 16 vehicles. The repeated strikes have created serious challenges for residents. Emergency teams continued to deal with the damage caused by the attacks.
Air raid alerts have continued across Kyiv for several days, disrupting normal life in the Ukrainian capital. Earlier, prolonged air raids kept the city under restrictions for nearly 15 hours. Ukrainian officials accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilian life and economic activity. The attacks have affected businesses, transport and daily activities in the city. The continued strikes have also raised concerns about the impact on essential infrastructure.
Ukraine Faces Growing Winter Power Concerns
Russian forces have also targeted Ukraine’s power infrastructure through drone and missile attacks. Ukrainian officials have warned that these strikes could create serious problems during the winter months. In the southern Kherson region, Russian glide bombs previously forced a combined heat-and-power plant to shut down. Officials warned residents about the possibility of prolonged power outages. They also advised people who could relocate to consider moving to safer areas.
The latest Russian attacks came days after Ukraine carried out a major drone offensive against Russia. Ukrainian forces reportedly launched nearly 800 drones in one of their biggest aerial attacks since the conflict began. The strikes highlight the growing use of drones by both sides in the ongoing war. While Russia continues to target Ukrainian cities and infrastructure, Ukraine has increasingly targeted locations inside Russia. The latest escalation has added further uncertainty to the already prolonged conflict.
