Tesla, a global leader in the premium electric vehicle (EV) segment, has officially entered the Indian market with the opening of its first showroom in Mumbai. Located at Maker Maxity Mall in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the showroom marks Tesla’s initial step toward establishing its presence in India.

The company launched the Model Y SUV as its debut offering, with prices starting at ₹60 lakh for the rear-wheel drive variant and ₹68 lakh for the long-range version. Due to high import duties, the prices remain higher than those in other countries, where the Model Y starts at $44,990 in the US, ¥263,500 in China, and €45,970 in Germany. Tesla is importing the initial batch of Model Y units directly from its Gigafactory in Shanghai, China.
