Neeraj Pandey responds to FIR against Ghooskhor Pandat
Director Neeraj Pandey addressed the FIR against Ghooskhor Pandat by issuing a public statement. He explained that the film is a fictional cop drama and that Pandat serves only as a colloquial nickname for a fictional character. He stressed that the story focuses on personal choices and corruption, not on any caste, religion, or community.
Moreover, Pandey said the team respects public concerns. As a precautionary step, the makers decided to withdraw all promotional material temporarily. According to him, viewers should judge the film only after watching it in full context, not based on limited promotional content.

What the film is about and why the controversy grew
Ghooskhor Pandat features Manoj Bajpayee as Ajay Dikshit, a corrupt and morally conflicted police officer known by the nickname ‘Pandat’. The story unfolds over a single night and also stars Nushrat Bharuccha and Saqib Saleem in important roles.
Meanwhile, the Film Makers Combine claimed that the makers failed to obtain mandatory approval for the film’s title. This allegation added fuel to the controversy and strengthened demands for official intervention. With the FIR against Ghooskhor Pandat now registered, the future release of the film remains uncertain.
