In a major development with potential national security implications, a Hisar court on Sunday ordered 14-day judicial custody for popular YouTuber and travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, who is currently under investigation for alleged espionage activities connected to Pakistan.

The decision comes after forensic analysis of her electronic devices reportedly revealed substantial and incriminating evidence.Police sources revealed that they recovered over 12 terabytes of digital data from her mobile phone and laptop. This data included private one-on-one conversations with at least four individuals suspected to be Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs), possible money trails pointing to unauthorised foreign funding, and evidence of VIP-level privileges received during her controversial visit to Pakistan.

Investigators allege that Malhotra was in direct contact with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and had even received special security clearance from Pakistan’s home ministry. A widely circulated video from her trip showed armed security personnel escorting her — a rare privilege that authorities do not typically extend to foreign tourists — which further raised eyebrows and sparked suspicions regarding her associations.

Authorities believe the evidence gathered so far points to deliberate attempts to breach national security protocols. Although the Hisar Police have not requested police remand at this stage, they have confirmed that a detailed probe into the origin of foreign remittances allegedly received by Malhotra is ongoing.
Officials suggest that the timely arrest of Malhotra may have helped avert a potentially serious national security breach. The case continues to unfold, with more revelations likely as digital forensics teams analyse the extensive volume of data retrieved.
