YouTuber Dhruv Rathee will join the Cockroach Janta Party’s protest at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park on Thursday. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announced Rathee’s participation through a video shared on social media. Rathee later appeared in the video and urged people to attend the demonstration. He described the protest as a fight to protect democracy. He also asked people in Delhi to join the larger protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10. The Bengaluru demonstration comes two days before the planned Delhi mobilisation. CJP has organised the protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The group has raised objections to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
Dhruv Rathee and Prakash Raj Join Bengaluru Protest
Actor Prakash Raj will also participate in the Bengaluru protest and has supported CJP’s campaign. He added a cinematic twist while addressing Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Raj used a popular dialogue associated with Ajay Devgn’s character from the Singham franchise. His remark quickly attracted attention on social media. Prakash Raj has previously spoken against the Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls. He urged civil society groups, students and affected voters to join Thursday’s demonstration. The actor also praised Rathee’s participation in the campaign. CJP says the protest will highlight concerns raised by voters during the electoral roll revision process.
The Bengaluru event will begin with a People’s Tribunal focused on the Special Intensive Revision. Organisers plan to give affected voters an opportunity to share their experiences. CJP claims that several people faced problems during the voter-list revision exercise. The group wants authorities to address these concerns and restore affected names. Organisers will follow the tribunal with a symbolic Chappal Protest. CJP says the protest will express solidarity with women journalists who alleged sexual harassment. The group has invited students, activists and civil society organisations to participate. The Bengaluru programme will therefore combine voter concerns with broader social issues.

CJP Steps Up Campaign Against Electoral Roll Revision
The Bengaluru protest will also prepare the ground for CJP’s October 10 demonstration. Organisers plan to hold the larger protest at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. CJP has joined hands with several student organisations for the Delhi mobilisation. These groups include AISA, AISF, SFI and AAP’s student wing ASAP. The protesters have demanded Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation from the Election Commission. They have also called for an independent inquiry into alleged electoral irregularities. CJP further wants authorities to suspend the current SIR process. The group has demanded restoration of earlier electoral rolls for affected voters.
The protests come amid a wider Opposition campaign against the electoral roll revision process. Congress and several INDIA bloc parties have separately demonstrated in New Delhi. Rahul Gandhi and other Opposition leaders have demanded action from the Election Commission. Their protests have also focused on Gyanesh Kumar’s position as Chief Election Commissioner. CJP plans to continue its campaign through the Bengaluru and Delhi demonstrations. Rathee and Prakash Raj’s participation has brought additional public attention to the campaign. The upcoming protests will provide another platform for organisers to present their demands. Meanwhile, the Election Commission and protesters continue to hold different positions on the SIR controversy.
