Iranian drone have repeatedly targeted the Fujairah oil hub in the United Arab Emirates, increasing instability in the Gulf. The attacks come as tensions rise after the ongoing US–Israeli military actions against Iran. A recent drone strike caused a fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, a major energy facility about 150 km east of Dubai. Officials confirmed that no one was injured.
Another incident occurred just days earlier at the same location. Falling debris from a drone interception caused a separate fire. In Abu Dhabi, debris from a intercepted ballistic missile struck the Bani Yas area. This incident killed a Pakistani national and raised further safety concerns.
The UAE Ministry of Defence actively intercepted incoming missiles and drones launched by Iran. These interceptions caused loud explosions across several areas. Authorities also briefly closed the country’s airspace due to safety threats. Iran defended its actions by claiming that Gulf countries hosting US bases are valid targets after the strikes on Tehran.

Despite these claims, the attacks have damaged civilian infrastructure across the region. Airports, ports, and oil facilities have all faced disruptions. The UAE has faced the highest number of attacks so far, with more than 1,800 missiles and drones targeting the country. Across the Gulf, countries have reported over 2,000 such attacks since the conflict began.
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait have also responded to the growing threat. Their defence systems intercepted multiple drones and missiles. Qatar reported a small fire caused by falling debris, but no injuries occurred. Gulf Cooperation Council countries strongly condemned Iran’s actions and pledged to defend their territories.
