    Nitin Nabin

After a day-long nomination process at BJP headquarters, five-time Bihar MLA Nitin Nabin became the sole candidate in the contest. As one of the youngest leaders to assume the post, he will drive a generational transition in the party as it looks ahead to the next decade. Several senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, outgoing party chief JP Nadda, and multiple Union ministers, reached the party’s Delhi headquarters this morning while Nitin Nabin prepared to take charge as the new national president. The BJP will officially announce the appointment between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm today, and PM Modi will attend the ceremony in New Delhi.

Meet BJP’s incoming leader Nitin Nabin:

Five-time Bihar MLA Nitin Nabin will become the BJP’s new national president, as no other candidate entered the contest. He is the son of the late senior BJP leader and four-time Bihar MLA Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha. Nabin entered active politics in 2006 after his father’s death and won a by-election from Patna West that same year. At 45, he will become the youngest leader to head the party at the national level. His Kayastha caste background, widely seen as politically neutral, also strengthened his case.

Party insiders say Nabin understands the BJP leadership’s working style and respects established boundaries. He will maintain harmony with senior leaders rather than disrupt the political balance created by JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. His appointment, however, reflects more than just ideological alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah.

Nabin leads BJP to a clear majority win:

Nabin brings nearly two decades of organisational experience. He rose through the BJP’s youth wing in Bihar and played key roles in election strategy, including efforts that weakened the Congress in Chhattisgarh and helped the BJP return to power in the state. He has also served as a minister in Bihar, handling portfolios such as Law, Roadways, and Urban Development.

Despite his age, Nabin brings nearly two decades of organisational experience. He rose through the BJP’s youth wing in Bihar and later played a crucial role in election management, including efforts that weakened the Congress in Chhattisgarh and paved the way for the BJP’s return to power in the state.
