Tensions between the United States and Iran have intensified after fresh missile and drone attacks across the Middle East. Britain’s Defence Secretary John Healey said on Sunday that defence systems intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles fired toward Cyprus. The incident increased fears of a wider regional conflict israel.
Meanwhile, the US military confirmed that three American service members were killed and five others were seriously injured during recent US attacks on Iran. Officials released the information on Sunday as both countries continued military actions and exchanged strong warnings.
Iran launched new waves of missile and drone strikes in several parts of the region. As a result, air-raid sirens sounded in major cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in Israel. Alerts were also activated in parts of Doha, the capital of Qatar, and in Kuwait. According to reports, one woman was killed in Israel as Iran stepped up its retaliation.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed that they targeted a US naval base in Kuwait. The group said the attack caused heavy losses among American forces. However, independent sources have not confirmed these claims so far.
Reacting to the attacks, US President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran. He said the United States would respond with “a force that has never been seen before” if Tehran carried out further retaliation. His statement signaled rising tensions between the two countries.
