PM Narendra Modi said he has decided to forgive the students who allegedly used abusive language against him during the recent protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The PM statement came as police continued legal proceedings related to the controversy. Authorities registered a Zero FIR against a woman accused of making abusive and objectionable remarks against the Prime Minister during the NEET paper leak protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The complaint alleged that the accused intentionally used offensive language capable of provoking public discord and disturbing communal harmony. Police invoked relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections related to intentional insult, public mischief, and defamation. Since the alleged incident occurred within another jurisdiction, officials transferred the case to Parliament Street Police Station for further investigation. Investigators will now examine the evidence and determine the appropriate legal course based on their findings. The police have stated that the investigation will continue according to established legal procedures.
