The conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran continues to escalate across the Middle East. Firstly, US and Israeli forces launched fresh airstrikes on several Iranian cities. The attacks targeted Tehran, Hamadan, and Isfahan. As a result, Iran responded with counterattacks that damaged several Israeli cities.

Meanwhile, US fighter jets struck military facilities near the Chabahar Free Trade Zone. According to Al Jazeera, which cited Voice of America’s Persian service, loud explosions were heard behind the zone. Notably, the area lies in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, close to the border with Pakistan.

At the same time, US President Donald Trump urged allies to support efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. This is important because the route carries a large share of global oil shipments. Furthermore, Trump warned that failure to secure the waterway could harm NATO. He also spoke with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer about restoring safe shipping in the region.

Meanwhile, Israel signaled that its military campaign inside Iran will continue. Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin said thousands of targets remain inside the country. In addition, Israeli forces have expanded their strikes to western and central areas of Iran.

However, Iran rejected claims that it wants negotiations. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran never requested a ceasefire with the US. In fact, during an interview with CBS News, he said Iran sees no reason to hold talks after the attacks. Meanwhile, tensions also increased near Baghdad International Airport. Additionally, air defence systems in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia intercepted several drones and missiles. Finally, Israel launched fresh strikes in Lebanon, where the reported death toll has reached around 850.
