Japanese global apparel retailer Uniqlo, known for its minimalist design and functional clothing under the LifeWear philosophy, is set to open its first store in South India. The brand has officially announced the launch of its Bengaluru outlet at Orion Mall on August 29, 2025.
This new store marks Uniqlo’s entry into the southern Indian market, adding to its existing presence in the northern and western regions of the country. Located on the ground floor of Orion Mall, the store will span 9,012 square feet and will be the company’s 16th store in India.
Expanding Reach with Signature LifeWear Collection
The Bengaluru outlet will feature Uniqlo’s full range of LifeWear clothing for men, women, and children. This includes popular seasonal innovations like HEATTECH, AIRism, and PUFFTECH — known for comfort, adaptability, and performance across weather conditions.
This launch represents a significant step in Uniqlo’s expansion roadmap, especially in tapping into new, tech-driven urban markets across India.
Why Bengaluru? A Strategic Move
Often referred to as “India’s Silicon Valley,” Bengaluru is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan cities in the country. Its large, young, and tech-savvy population makes it an ideal location for a global lifestyle brand like Uniqlo. The company cited strong online engagement and local demand as key drivers behind the decision to establish a physical presence in the city.
Part of a Larger India Strategy
The Bengaluru store is more than just a standalone outlet — it’s a strategic milestone in Uniqlo’s broader expansion in India. The brand aims to strengthen its foothold by entering new regional markets and catering to evolving consumer preferences with its unique blend of style, simplicity, and functionality.
