Delhi Blast Investigation Reveals Doctor Links
Investigating agencies are examining the involvement of three Kashmiri doctor—Adeel Ahmad Rather, Muzammil Shakeel, and Umar Mohammed—in the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed nine people and injured over twenty. Police arrested Adeel in Saharanpur and Muzammil in Faridabad, where they recovered nearly 2,900 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate and other bomb-making materials. Initial findings indicate that the same chemical was used in the Red Fort blast.

Police Trace Car Ownership Trail to Doctor Umar
Investigators traced the ownership of the i20 car through multiple buyers, eventually linking it to Dr. Umar Mohammed. CCTV footage captured part of the driver’s face moments before the blast, and police are preparing a DNA test to confirm his identity. Agencies suspect that Umar may have triggered the blast himself after panicking over the arrest of his associates and the seizure of huge quantities of explosives. The police registered a case under UAPA and the Explosive Substances Act as central agencies reviewed every possible angle.
Highly Educated Recruits Signal Shift in Terror Operations
Security agencies say the involvement of doctors like Umar, Adeel, and Muzammil reflects a new “white-collar terror ecosystem.” These trained professionals allegedly used encrypted channels for indoctrination, coordination, funding, and logistical planning. Investigators found that the group raised money through academic and professional networks under the guise of charity. Police believe they identified and radicalised new recruits, procured weapons, and arranged materials for IEDs, marking a significant shift in modern terror recruitment strategies.
