According to Delhi Police, the house gave way due to intense rainfall and strong winds that struck the region early in the day. The woman’s husband sustained injuries in the collapse and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The severe weather, marked by heavy downpours and gusty winds, not only brought relief from the ongoing heatwave in Delhi-NCR but also caused widespread damage and disruption, including this heartbreaking loss of life. Authorities are investigating the structural failure, which highlights the vulnerability of poorly built homes during extreme weather events.

    According to a police officer familiar with the incident, Delhi Police received an emergency call at 5:26 AM on Friday, reporting the collapse of a house in Kharkhari Nagar village, located in the Jafarpur Kalan area of Najafgarh. The collapse occurred amid heavy rainfall and strong winds during a thunderstorm that hit the region early in the morning. The timely report led authorities to respond quickly to the scene of the tragic incident.
