Forensic Report Reveals Anaesthetic Overdose, Turning Case into Murder

The forensic science laboratory (FSL) report revealed the presence of Propofol in Kritika’s body. This anaesthetic, used for inducing unconsciousness during surgery, caused her death by overdose. Her father filed a complaint accusing Mahendra of deliberately administering the lethal dose. The police said this changed the case from accidental death to cold-blooded murder. Authorities are now probing Mahendra’s role and motives behind the tragic incident. Mahendra claimed he treated Kritika for long-term gastrointestinal problems at home. On April 24, he admitted Kritika to Cauvery Hospital after she fell unconscious.

Doctors declared her brought dead, prompting an autopsy despite his request to avoid it. He even asked his father-in-law to convince police against performing the post-mortem. Police proceeded with the autopsy, which confirmed the anaesthetic overdose as the cause. Investigations revealed Kritika’s ill health strained the couple’s relationship soon after marriage. Mahendra became upset learning about her medical issues, feeling deceived by her parents. The tension possibly triggered his decision to harm Kritika, police suspect in their probe.

Officers continue gathering evidence to build a case against Mahendra for murder charges. This case has shocked the medical community and raised concerns about domestic violence. ACP Ramesh Banoth said Mahendra insisted he only tried to treat his wife. Police, however, suspect foul play based on forensic and testimonial evidence collected. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the case to come forward immediately. The accused will remain in custody during further investigation and court proceedings. This tragic case serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance even in trusted families.
