Trump Approves 28-Point Russia-Ukraine Peace Plan

NBC News reported that Donald Trump approved a 28-point peace plan for the Russia-Ukraine war this week, according to a senior administration official. Top US officials quietly developed the proposal over several weeks while consulting Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev and Ukrainian representatives. Axios first revealed the plan, noting that the United States drew inspiration from Trump’s earlier 20-point Gaza peace proposal. The official cited by NBC refused to disclose the details of the peace plan, saying it still requires negotiations among key stakeholders. Three US officials told the outlet that the framework has not yet been formally presented to Ukrainian leaders, and its completion coincided with a visit to Ukraine by an American Army delegation.

    Russia-Ukraine war

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 has become Europe’s most significant war in decades. The fighting has centered on eastern and southern Ukraine, where intense battles, drone strikes, and long-range attacks continue to cause widespread destruction and humanitarian losses. Ukraine, backed by Western military and economic support, has focused on defending territory and fighting back Russian advances, while Russia has aimed to consolidate control over occupied regions and pressure Ukraine through military and infrastructure attacks. The conflict has led to massive displacement, thousands of casualties, and a prolonged stalemate with no clear end in sight.
