India-US Trade Talks Resume Amid High Tariffs, Aim for Interim Agreement
Brendan Lynch and India’s chief trade negotiator Rajesh Agrawal agreed to fast-track discussions, focusing on resolving key trade issues. Officials expressed optimism about finalizing an interim agreement soon. Earlier negotiations stalled after Washington imposed an additional 25% tariff on Indian crude from Russia, pushing total duties on Indian exports to the US to 50%, creating tension between the two sides.
