External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday said India is being unfairly singled out on global matters, asserting that such selective treatment is neither right nor justified. Speaking after talks with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in New Delhi, he stressed that countries should be treated equally, especially during a time of global uncertainty and transition. Referring to the Ukraine conflict, Jaishankar said India has consistently and openly articulated its position on the issue. He added that selectively blaming or targeting India does not make sense, emphasising that New Delhi’s stance has been transparent and principled, according to news agency ANI.

Jaishankar: Discussions take place amid global uncertainty
During talks, Jaishankar said India and Poland face distinct challenges and opportunities amid global changes. He emphasized sustaining dialogue and building closer cooperation between the two countries for mutual benefit. The minister referred to Prime Minister Modi’s August 2024 visit, which strengthened their strategic partnership significantly. Both sides will review the Action Plan 2024–28 to expand cooperation in trade, defence, technology, innovation.
Jaishankar urged Poland to adopt zero-tolerance policies toward terrorism and avoid supporting terrorist networks near India. He said cross-border terrorism continues to pose a serious security challenge for India and the region. Addressing Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister, Jaishankar highlighted Warsaw’s awareness of the region’s long-standing security concerns. He expressed hope for discussions on recent developments and stressed Poland must avoid sustaining terrorist infrastructure.
