The hospital has installed a 256-slice spectral CT scanner at a cost of around ₹20 crore, making it the first such machine in a government hospital in North India. Officials said the advanced imaging system delivers high-resolution scans with lower radiation exposure and enables faster, more accurate diagnosis of cardiac, oncological, neurological and vascular diseases, including angiography-related conditions.

In the field of neurosciences, the hospital has also set up a Philips Azurion monoplane Neuro Cath Lab at a cost of ₹9 crore. The facility will support advanced interventional procedures for stroke, aneurysms and brain tumours and is expected to benefit more than 1,200 patients annually.

GB Pant Hospital has renovated and upgraded its existing Neuro ICU into a 16-bed state-of-the-art unit with an operation theatre complex at an estimated cost of ₹2 crore. The upgraded facility features advanced patient-monitoring systems, specialised critical-care infrastructure and trained medical personnel to manage complex neurological and post-surgical cases. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a global healthcare hub and reflects the Delhi government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the national capital.

Delhi Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh, who attended the inauguration, said the newly added facilities will significantly boost GB Pant Hospital’s capacity to manage complex diagnostic and neurological cases. He said the upgraded infrastructure will reduce waiting times for specialised treatment and ensure timely care for critically ill patients. Officials said the commissioning of the facilities marks an important step in expanding advanced, technology-driven healthcare services across Delhi’s public hospital system.
