Four people, including an Indian national, were injured on Wednesday when two drones fell near Dubai International Airport. The injured included two Ghanaian citizens, one Bangladeshi citizen and one Indian citizen. Three people suffered minor injuries, while the Indian national received moderate injuries.
The Government of Dubai Media Office confirmed the incident in a post on X. Officials said two drones fell in the area around the airport a short time earlier. They also clarified that flight operations at the airport continued normally.
Earlier, the UAE Ministry of Defence said the country’s air defence systems were responding to missiles and drones launched from Iran. The ministry explained that people heard loud sounds because defence systems intercepted the incoming threats. Authorities also urged residents to follow safety instructions.

Officials linked the attacks to rising tensions in the region. Iran launched the strikes in response to the ongoing joint military operations by the United States and Israel, which began on February 28. The ministry said air defence systems detected nine ballistic missiles earlier. They destroyed eight missiles, while one fell into the sea.
Authorities also detected several unmanned aerial vehicles entering UAE airspace. Defence systems intercepted many of them, while some drones fell inside the country. The ministry said the attacks caused deaths and injuries among people of different nationalities. Officials added that the UAE remains ready to respond to any threat and protect its security and sovereignty.
