Aanand L Rai’s love story Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has crossed the 100 crore mark worldwide in less than a week of its release. The film has earned ₹77.85 crore net and ₹92.65 crore gross in India, along with ₹8.50 crore from overseas, taking its worldwide total to ₹101.15 crore in six days. Despite a 33% dip in India on Wednesday, the film crossed the milestone, after having opened with ₹16 crore in India and ₹22 crore worldwide. Tere Ishk Mein is performing better in Hindi than Tamil.

Tere Ishk Mein now needs to earn ₹138.1 crore to surpass Dhanush’s previous film Kuberaa, ₹109.50 crore to beat De De Pyaar De 2, and ₹110.27 crore to overtake Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. While the film continues to perform well, it still has a long way to go before matching the success of Saiyaara, which remains the highest-grossing romantic drama with a massive ₹569.75 crore at the global box office.

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon Star in Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein

Tere Ishk Mein marks the third collaboration between Aanand L Rai and Dhanush after Raanjhanaa (2013) and Atrangi Re (2021). The film has drawn comparisons to Raanjhanaa due to the intensity of its theme. Before the release, Dhanush shared that his character, Shankar, is easier for audiences to connect with but comes with significant emotional challenges. He explained, “Shankar is very easy to like, but he has his own set of struggles, which I can’t reveal right now. You’ll understand once you watch the film.” He also noted that playing Kundan in Raanjhanaa was much more complicated, stating, “It’s a very complex character, where even a slight misstep could make the audience not like Kundan.” Tere Ishk Mein unfolds the turbulent love story of Shankar and Mukti, played by Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.
