Owaisi urges reinstatement of Pakistan on FATF grey list
According to a report by news agency ANI, Owaisi urged the international community to tighten financial scrutiny on Pakistan to ensure that Pakistan does not divert the IMF loan towards supporting terrorism or military operations, highlighting the ongoing risks posed by Pakistan’s policies.
During an interaction with the Indian diaspora in Kuwait, the AIMIM MP said, “We must bring Pakistan back to the FATF grey list. The FATF grey list is important because it ensures huge scrutiny on that nation during money transactions.” He also pointed out that Pakistan sponsors terror groups against India through money laundering and hawala transactions in the Middle East.
Owaisi further said that Pakistan cannot raise religious issues to target India and pointed out that India has a larger Muslim population. He stated, “Pakistan can’t take up this issue (of religion) and claim they represent Muslims. In India, we have a larger Muslim population, and we (Indian Muslims) are more sincere than them (Pakistan).”
