Bengaluru-based IT major Infosys on Wednesday announced a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to speed up enterprise adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI). The company disclosed the development in a stock exchange filing on January 7.
Under the deal, Infosys will integrate its AI-first platform Infosys Topaz with Amazon Q Developer, AWS’s generative AI-powered assistant. The partnership comes as global IT companies step up investments in AI to drive future growth.
Infosys said the collaboration will strengthen its internal operations and help deliver advanced AI-led solutions to clients across sectors such as manufacturing, telecom, financial services, and consumer goods.
“Infosys is harnessing the power of Infosys Topaz to drive AI-powered transformation across software development, HR, recruitment, sales, and vendor management,” the company said. Balakrishna DR, Executive Vice President and Global Service Head for AI and Industries at Infosys, added that the partnership aims to build an AI-first ecosystem that enables enterprises to navigate business transformation with greater agility and precision.

The company said the combined use of Infosys Topaz and Amazon Q Developer will significantly improve efficiency in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by enabling automated documentation and offering tailored support for code generation, debugging, testing, and legacy code modernisation.
Infosys also plans to leverage AWS generative AI services to deliver industry-specific solutions, including enhanced end-user engagement for sports and entertainment through real-time personalised experiences powered by Infosys Topaz and Amazon Bedrock.
Reacting to the announcement, Infosys shares climbed more than 1.5% on the BSE to ₹1,635.60.
Sandeep Dutta, President of AWS India and South Asia, said the combined strengths of Amazon Q and Infosys Topaz will help organisations innovate faster, achieve operational agility, and unlock greater value for clients across global industries.
