What Is the Prompt Injection Threat?
Hackers use prompt injection to embed harmful commands inside external content. When AI tools browse the web, read uploaded files, or connect to third-party apps, they may unknowingly process these hidden instructions. This can potentially expose confidential data or trigger unsafe actions. What Is Lockdown Mode?
OpenAI introduced Lockdown Mode as an optional high-security setting. What Are Elevated Risk Labels?
Alongside Lockdown Mode, OpenAI launched Elevated Risk Labels within ChatGPT. These labels appear next to tools or features that involve greater exposure to external systems. For example, if a feature connects to outside content or provides broader system access, ChatGPT will display a visible warning. This alert helps users make informed decisions before proceeding. OpenAI emphasized that many of ChatGPT’s most powerful capabilities depend on external connections. While these tools enhance productivity, they also introduce potential vulnerabilities.
