Singer Arijit Singh has addressed the widespread discussion surrounding his decision to step back from playback singing, offering clarity on the reasons behind the move. The 38-year-old musician shared his thoughts through a series of personal posts on his private X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the decision was the result of prolonged reflection rather than a sudden trigger.

Singh explained that he now wishes to focus on personal development and independent music creation. He emphasised that multiple factors influenced his choice, noting that he had been considering the transition for quite some time before finally gathering the courage to act on it.
Speaking openly about his creative mindset, the singer admitted that he often experiences restlessness, which drives him to constantly change song arrangements and experiment during live performances. He shared that this sense of fatigue pushed him to seek fresh musical challenges, adding that exploring new forms of music is essential for his growth as an artist.
Another significant reason behind his decision is his desire to discover and be inspired by emerging talent in the music industry. Singh expressed enthusiasm about listening to new voices that could genuinely motivate and influence him creatively.
Reassuring fans, Singh clarified that his passion for music remains strong.
