    Air India announced the cancellation of both inbound and outbound flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot on Tuesday.

    The move follows a similar announcement from IndiGo. The Airline have announced the cancellation of its flight operations to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot airports for May 13.

    In a statement posted on X, Air India said, “Considering the latest developments and prioritizing your safety, we have cancelled flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot for Tuesday, 13th May.”

    Air India’s Efforts to Resume Operations

    Earlier Air India had announced that it is working towards commencing flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot.

    “Following a notification from aviation authorities on the reopening of airports, Air India is working towards progressively commencing flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot. We appreciate your understanding at this time as our teams work on bringing operations at these airports back to normal. Please stay tuned for further updates,” Air India said.

    AAI Reopens Airports Amid Escalating Tensions

    On Monday, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced that it had reopened 32 airports across northern and western India for civil flight operations, three days after it extended their temporary closure until Thursday next (May 15) amid the escalating India-Pakistan conflict.

    India’s air defence intercepted Pakistani drones amid a blackout in Samb, and Army sources reported seeing red streaks and hearing explosions. They stated that they had engaged a small number of drones that entered the Samba sector.
