Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the India-Japan Economic Forum in Tokyo, batted strongly for India as a global investment hub and emphasized that the world was not only watching but also counting on New Delhi for growth, stability, and innovation. He highlighted India’s growing economy, young workforce, digital transformation, and robust reforms that make it an attractive destination for investors. Modi underlined the strategic partnership between India and Japan, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, clean energy, technology, and defense cooperation. Later in the day, PM Modi will also hold summit-level talks with his Japanese counterpart Shigeru Ishiba to further deepen bilateral ties.

Talks to Strengthen Strategic Partnership, Boost Tech and Investment Ties
The Prime Minister said that the talks “would focus on shaping the next phase in the Special Strategic and Global Partnership, which has made steady and significant progress over the past 11 years.” “We would endeavour to give new wings to our collaboration, expand scope and ambition of our economic and investment ties, and advance cooperation in new and emerging technologies, including AI and semiconductors,” he added. He further stressed that both nations must strengthen people-to-people exchanges, enhance cultural cooperation, and ensure that innovation-driven growth remains central to bilateral relations, thereby securing long-term stability, prosperity, and mutual trust between India and Japan.
