Trump Aide Slams Modi for Meeting Putin, Xi at SCO Summit
US President Donald Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro intensified his criticism of India’s ties with Russia, calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping at the SCO summit a “shame.” Navarro said Modi was “getting in bed with Xi and Putin” and urged him to side with the US instead of Russia. His remarks followed Modi’s visit to China for the SCO, where he met both leaders. Since Trump imposed heavy tariffs on India, Navarro has repeatedly condemned New Delhi’s crude oil trade with Moscow, claiming it funds Putin’s war in Ukraine. A conflict Trump has failed to end despite earlier boasting he could stop it within hours.

Maharaja Of Tariffs, Claim
Peter Navarro, US President Donald Trump’s trade adviser, accused India of creating a “two-prong problem” — unfair trade practices and oil purchases from Russia. He claimed India was in denial about its Russian crude imports and alleged that “Brahmins are profiteering at the expense of ordinary Indians” through discounted oil deals. Navarro branded India a “laundromat for the Kremlin,” accusing refiners of buying cheap Russian crude, processing it, and exporting it at a premium. He argued that this trade “kills Ukrainians” and forces US taxpayers to send more aid. Defending Trump’s punitive tariffs on Indian exports, Navarro insisted that India’s ties with Moscow and Beijing were undermining global stability.
