    BCCI and Gambhir Defend Harshit Rana Amid Criticism

    BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla backed head coach Gautam Gambhir’s stance on the criticism surrounding Harshit Rana’s selection for the ODI series in Australia. Gambhir also suggested that some were using such comments to gain attention on YouTube. He stressed that players should only be judged based on their on-field contributions.

Some questioned his place over senior pacer Mohammed Shami, despite Harshit’s consistent performances across formats. Former selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth even referred to him as “a permanent member,” prompting Gambhir’s sharp response.
