Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis dismissed the political significance of the Shiv Sena MNS alliance. He said the partnership between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray would not impact elections significantly. Fadnavis remarked that the alliance was receiving unnecessary hype and exaggerated public attention from media. He compared the development to an unlikely global scenario involving Russia Ukraine Putin Zelenskyy talks. The chief minister claimed both parties united due to political compulsion and survival concerns alone. He alleged the alliance partners were struggling after losing credibility public trust and traditional voters.
According to Fadnavis appeasement politics weakened their support base across Maharashtra over time significantly statewide. He asserted citizens recognized these political shifts and would reflect them during civic polls decisively. Fadnavis maintained the alliance would not revive fortunes or alter electoral outcomes meaningfully for parties. Overall he downplayed the Thackeray cousins unity calling it politically inconsequential ahead of elections statewide.

Fadnavis,Uddhav, Raj Thackeray announce Sena (UBT)-MNS alliance for BMC polls
Fadnavis said their coming together would make no difference as Mumbai supports Mahayuti’s development work. He expressed confidence that the ruling alliance would continue winning Mumbai in upcoming civic elections. Earlier Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray announced an alliance for Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections formally. At a joint press conference Uddhav said both parties intended to remain united politically together. Both leaders stated the alliance was formed for Marathi manoos and Maharashtra’s broader interests collectively.
At a public rally Raj Thackeray said Maharashtra had long awaited this historic moment finally. He declared Shiv Sena and MNS were now united after years of political separation publicly. Elections to twenty nine municipal corporations including Mumbai and Nashik are scheduled January fifteenth statewide. The BMC polls are especially significant given Shiv Sena’s decades long control previously over Mumbai. These elections will test new alliances and voter sentiment across Maharashtra’s urban landscape during polls.
