The Pentagon is preparing to deploy elements of the 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East as the conflict in the region enters its fourth week, according to a report by CBS News. Officials plan to send a command unit along with limited ground forces, with the total deployment expected to be under 1,500 troops.
The move comes despite repeated claims by Donald Trump that negotiations with Iran are underway and the war could soon come to an end. Trump has expressed confidence in a possible deal, while also asserting strong US military dominance in the region.

However, Iran has strongly rejected these claims. In a video released by Fars News, an Iranian military spokesperson criticized the US position, stating that Washington appears to be “negotiating with itself” and warned against portraying the situation as a victory.
At the same time, Iran has escalated its military response. It released footage of the 80th wave of Operation True Promise 4, showing missile strikes targeting US-Israeli positions in the region.
Iranian officials have denied any ongoing talks with the US and maintained that peace will only be possible if US and Israeli military operations are halted. With both sides continuing strong rhetoric and military actions, the possibility of an immediate resolution in West Asia remains uncertain.
