Iran strongly reacted as Israeli continued military operations in Lebanon against Hezbollah, killing dozens and injuring hundreds. The attacks increased tensions in the region and escalated the ongoing conflict. People in Iran also held protests against the continued Israeli strikes.

Soon after US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire with Iran, Iran shut the Strait of Hormuz. This decision came in response to Israeli attacks in Lebanon. The move raised serious concerns about global trade and energy supply routes.

Earlier, the US and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire to reduce tensions. Iran had promised to keep the Strait of Hormuz open during this period. Despite this, Israel launched more than 100 airstrikes in Lebanon within minutes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supported the US-Iran ceasefire decision. However, he clarified that the agreement did not include Lebanon. He also stated that Israel would continue its actions against Hezbollah.

The United States urged Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz immediately. Officials called the closure unacceptable and demanded quick action. Trump also backed Israel’s operations, saying Hezbollah was not part of the deal.
