During the meeting, PM Modi praised Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for handling the tense situation with patience and wisdom. He said the UAE president showed courage and restraint despite increasing regional instability. Modi described the UAE’s balanced response as highly commendable and appreciated its efforts to maintain stability.

The Prime Minister also thanked the UAE government for taking care of the Indian community living in the country. He acknowledged the support provided to Indians during the ongoing crisis and said India values the UAE’s concern for their safety and well-being. Modi added that the strong friendship between the two nations continues to grow stronger.

The visit came shortly after three Indian nationals suffered injuries in a drone strike-linked fire at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone. UAE authorities blamed Iran for the attack. The incident raised concerns about the safety of vital energy infrastructure in the Gulf region and increased fears of further escalation.

PM Modi also discussed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure. He said uninterrupted movement through the strategic waterway is essential for regional peace and global energy supplies. Modi stressed that all countries must respect international law and ensure safe passage through the route.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important trade routes for oil transportation. Around 20 percent of global petroleum supplies pass through the channel every day. Any disruption in the area creates uncertainty in international energy markets and affects food and fuel security across several countries.
