The Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor will increase its train frequency on August 27 and 28 to manage the expected Raksha Bandhan rush. Passengers can plan their journeys according to the revised schedule. The increased services will also help authorities manage crowds at major stations.

Trains to Run Every Eight Minutes

Namo Bharat trains will operate every eight minutes on both days under the special arrangement. The services will run across the entire corridor, connecting Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram. The higher frequency will give passengers more travel options during the busy festival period. It will also reduce waiting time at stations and make journeys smoother. Officials expect the additional trips to ease pressure on regular train services.

The increased train frequency will provide significant relief to women travelling to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with their brothers. Many passengers will also use the service to visit their families and relatives during the festival. The additional services will make it easier for people to complete their journeys despite the expected rush. Corporate employees may also benefit from the arrangement, especially as August 28 falls on a Friday. The improved schedule aims to offer a comfortable travel experience to all commuters.

NCRTC Ready to Add More Trains

The NCRTC may further increase train frequency if passenger numbers rise significantly during the festival. The authority will monitor the situation and take additional steps based on commuter demand. More public transport services can also help reduce traffic congestion on major roads. Officials have encouraged passengers to use public transport whenever possible. The special arrangement will support smoother movement across Delhi and nearby regions.

Meanwhile, North Central Railway has also announced three special train services between Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The railway will operate these services to manage the expected rise in passenger traffic during Raksha Bandhan. The special trains will run between Subedarganj and Shakurbasti. They will stop at several key stations, including Fatehpur, Kanpur, Etawah, Tundla and Aligarh. The additional services aim to provide more travel options for passengers during the festive rush.
