    Dipke

Delhi Police detained CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke over an alleged violation of peace bond conditions. According to police, Dipke received two notices prohibiting him from visiting Central Park in Connaught Place. However, officers alleged that he failed to follow those instructions. Police reportedly linked his preventive detention to concerns about maintaining public order. Authorities are also expected to inform the magistrate about his alleged violation of an earlier peace bond. Dipke had reportedly furnished a bond of ₹50,000 and promised not to disturb public peace for one year. The latest detentions came ahead of planned Tiranga and anti-Chief Election Commissioner protests in New Delhi. Meanwhile, Neha Bora, president of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), was released after hours of uncertainty surrounding her detention. The developments sparked questions about police action, protest rights, and access to legal assistance.

    CJP Questions Abhijeet Dipke Detention

CJP alleged that Delhi Police took Dipke to an undisclosed location and prevented him from contacting lawyers. The party said it lost contact with its founder following his detention. CJP also questioned why authorities treated young protesters like criminals. The organisation argued that citizens deserved constitutional protections and the freedom to express their views. It claimed Dipke carried the national flag when he left his residence. The party questioned whether carrying the Tiranga could justify police action. CJP further maintained that these detentions would not discourage people from joining the planned demonstrations. Party representatives also sought clarification about the legal grounds behind Dipke’s preventive detention. The incident intensified political criticism of the police response to the proposed protests.

CJP approached the station house officer of Delhi’s Mandir Marg police station to seek information about Dipke’s whereabouts. Party leader Rohan Deshpande requested details about the legal provisions invoked against the founder. He also asked authorities to identify the facility where police had detained Dipke. Deshpande expressed concern over the absence of official communication regarding his custody. The letter sought clarification about the authority responsible for ordering the preventive detention. It also requested the name of the officer overseeing Dipke’s custody. Furthermore, Deshpande urged police officials to facilitate communication between Dipke, his colleagues, and legal representatives. The party maintained that authorities should disclose the detention details without unnecessary delay. CJP’s request highlighted concerns about transparency and access to legal counsel during preventive police action.

Two CJP Leaders Previously Sent to Tihar Jail

AISA previously reported that police had traced its president, Neha Bora, to the RK Puram police station. The organisation alleged that officers moved her between several locations across Delhi for nearly five hours. Lawyers who reached the station around midnight reportedly could not meet her. AISA also claimed police delayed information about the reasons for her detention and her expected release. The student organisation raised concerns about Bora’s health and access to medication. In a post on X, AISA alleged that officers prevented lawyers from meeting her and restricted the delivery of medicines. The organisation demanded answers about the legal grounds for holding its president late at night. Earlier, AISA had claimed that authorities took Bora to an Anti-Narcotics Task Force facility in southwest Delhi before moving her elsewhere. The organisation later confirmed that police had located her.

The latest developments follow earlier police action against other CJP leaders during protests in the national capital. Earlier in the week, authorities sent party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka to Tihar Jail for five days. They allegedly violated their peace bond conditions and trespassed at Jantar Mantar. The site had reportedly been denotified as a designated protest location. These actions formed part of a broader series of preventive measures ahead of planned demonstrations in Delhi. CJP has criticised the police response and questioned the treatment of its members. Meanwhile, the allegations surrounding the detention of Dipke and Bora have drawn attention to protest-related policing. The cases raise questions about compliance with peace bonds, public order, and citizens’ rights. The police allegations remain distinct from the political organisations’ claims, and the precise circumstances require confirmation from official records.
