Mini Cooper Crash Near Kochi Airport Claims Three Lives
Police registered a case against Suhail for culpable homicide and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigators suspect that intoxication may have contributed to the accident, but officials await blood test results to confirm their suspicions. According to reports, Suhail allegedly admitted consuming alcohol before driving, although he claimed that he had consumed only beer. Medical personnel collected his blood and other samples to determine whether alcohol or other intoxicating substances were present. Ernakulam Rural Superintendent of Police K. S. Sudarsan said forensic experts were also examining the Mini Cooper for evidence of intoxicating substances. Police confirmed that the car belonged to Suhail’s father and that the teenager held a valid driving licence. Investigators are reviewing the available evidence to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the collision and determine legal responsibility.

Accident Footage Shows High-Speed Collision
Television channels aired footage showing the Mini Cooper speeding along a wide road before crashing into the scooter. The two-wheeler appeared to travel along the extreme left side when the car struck it. The impact reportedly threw one of the women riding pillion into the air and scattered debris across the accident site. The collision severely damaged both vehicles, leaving the scooter mangled and the car badly damaged. Superintendent of Police Sudarsan said authorities would strengthen police patrols and preventive measures around the airport area. Officials want to prevent similar accidents by addressing dangerous driving and speeding on local roads. Investigators are examining the available footage, witness statements and forensic evidence to reconstruct the crash. Meanwhile, the incident has raised concerns about road safety and the potentially devastating consequences of reckless driving.
A separate incident occurred when some friends of the victims allegedly attacked Suhail during his medical examination at a hospital. Police said the group confronted him inside the facility, and someone later struck him on the head from behind. Officers intervened to prevent further violence and took one alleged assailant into custody. Authorities are investigating the reported assault separately from the fatal road accident. The incident has added another development to the case as investigators continue gathering evidence and recording statements. Police are also awaiting the driver’s blood test results and the findings of the car’s forensic examination. These reports could help investigators determine whether intoxicating substances contributed to the collision. Officials have not completed their investigation, and the allegations remain subject to verification through the legal process.
