Kantara Chapter 1 OTT release: Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, which he wrote, directed and starred in, is getting a digital release less than a month after its theatrical release on October 2.

When and where to watch Kantara Chapter 1 on OTT
Prime Video announced on Monday that Kantara Chapter 1 will stream on October 31. The platform posted, “Get ready to witness the LEGENDary adventure of BERME #KantaraALegendChapter1OnPrime, October 31,” while sharing a trailer featuring Rishab Shetty’s character, Berme, preparing for battle with his men. The film will stream in Kannada, along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. However, fans quickly noticed the absence of a Hindi version. Many took to the comments asking, “What about Hindi?” while one user remarked, “Hindi laoge to hi hit review aayenge (You’ll only get hit reviews if you release it in Hindi).”

Set during the Kadamba dynasty, Kantara Chapter 1 explores the origins of the legends of Panjuluri Daiva, Guliga, and Chavundi. Produced by Hombale Films, the movie serves as a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara, which Rishab Shetty also directed and starred in. The film became the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2025, surpassing Chhaava’s ₹807 crore by earning ₹813 crore worldwide within 25 days of release.
