Prabhas The Raja Saab appears to be beyond recovery at the box office as its worldwide collection on day 4 took a major hit. After a disastrous first Monday the film witnessed a sharp 65 percent drop at the domestic box office following earlier declines of 51 percent and 26 percent over the weekend. As a result the film earned nearly 88 percent less on day 4 compared to its opening day.

Despite recording the weakest post-pandemic opening for a Prabhas film, The Raja Saab still collected 100 crore worldwide on its opening Friday before witnessing sharp drops on Saturday and Sunday. The film also failed the crucial Monday test on day 4 as it managed only 6.60 crore net in India, including just 1.75 crore from Hindi markets and a mere 7 lakh from Tamil regions. By Monday, the film’s India net collection stood at 114.60 crore with a gross of 137 crore. In overseas markets, a strong opening day in the US pushed the Maruthi directorial past 3.5 million, taking its total global gross to 170 crore.

Tough Road Ahead for The Raja Saab

The road ahead looks challenging for The Raja Saab as the film continues to trail even Prabhas’ earlier releases Saaho and Adipurush, both of which earned over 15 crore net on their fourth day despite steep drops. The Raja Saab has not reached even half that figure, and with a reported budget of 350 crore, the film now appears unlikely to recover its costs. Directed by Maruthi, the film had raised expectations as Prabhas returned to the family entertainer space after more than a decade following a string of mass action films post Baahubali. Despite featuring a strong cast including Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab, negative reviews from critics quickly dampened audience interest and caused the film’s box office run to fizzle out.
