IIM Ahmedabad has set a new international placement record in 2026. The institute recorded a Maximum Earning Potential (MEP) of USD 243,000, nearly ₹2.31 crore. A PGP student received the highest international package during this placement season. The latest figure surpassed the previous record of USD 192,581, set in 2014. The institute has reported placement figures under the IPRS framework since 2011. The record package highlights strong global demand for IIM Ahmedabad graduates.

IIM Ahmedabad Record International Package of ₹2.31 Crore
The highest international offer came from the IT sector in Dubai. The recruiter offered the student a business development role. IIM Ahmedabad said the MEP includes annual cash salary, one-time payments and guaranteed cash components. Six students accepted international positions during the placement process. Dubai accounted for four placements, while Hong Kong and Japan recorded one each. Business conglomerates made three international offers, while BFSI, IT and retail firms made one each.
Domestic placements also delivered strong results for IIM Ahmedabad students. The highest domestic MEP reached ₹81.6 lakh during the latest placement season. The median MEP increased to ₹36.98 lakh, marking its highest level in five years. BFSI remained the highest-paying domestic sector for the second consecutive year. However, consulting companies led recruitment numbers with 155 offers. BFSI recruiters followed with 82 offers during the placement process.

Strong Domestic Placements and Rising Business Development Roles
Business development roles witnessed a significant rise during the 2026 placements. Recruiters made 27 offers for business development positions this year. The number marked a sharp increase from just two to five offers annually between 2022 and 2024. Overall, 182 companies participated in the placement process. Together, they offered positions across approximately 267 roles. IT companies and business conglomerates each made 34 offers, while consumer services companies made 15.
Leading recruiters also maintained strong hiring interest in IIM Ahmedabad graduates. Accenture Strategy made the highest number of offers, including PPOs, with 36. BCG followed with 33 offers, while FinIQ Consulting made 24 offers. McKinsey & Company recruited 21 students through its offers. More than 50 new companies also joined the institute’s lateral and final placement processes. The record international package, strong domestic salaries and expanding recruiter base underline IIM Ahmedabad’s placement strength in 2026.
