Mumbai: Customer Shares Incident on Social Media

The customer, identified as Prannoy Palav, detailed the incident through a series of Instagram posts, photographs, and videos. He claimed that he had purchased 500 grams each of kaju katli and motichoor laddoos from the shop during his visit. While examining one piece of kaju katli, he allegedly found a rusty metal pin embedded inside the sweet. Palav said the discovery happened by chance and prevented a potentially serious accident. He urged food businesses to maintain strict quality checks and prioritize customer safety at every stage of food preparation.

Prannoy also uploaded videos showing him confronting the sweet shop staff about the alleged contamination. In one clip, a staff member appeared to remove the metal pin from the sweet while responding to the customer’s questions. Another video showed Palav entering the shop’s kitchen, where he claimed the surroundings appeared unhygienic. Food Safety Concerns Come Into Focus

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of maintaining strict food safety standards in restaurants and sweet shops. Consumers expect food products to remain free from contamination, particularly items intended for children and families. Experts often recommend rigorous quality inspections and proper hygiene practices throughout food preparation and packaging processes. Allegations involving foreign objects in food can significantly affect public confidence in food businesses. Authorities generally encourage consumers to report such incidents to the appropriate food safety agencies for further investigation.

At the time of reporting, the sweet shop had not issued any public statement addressing the customer’s allegations. The claims currently remain based on the customer’s account and social media posts, and no official findings have been released. Any investigation by the relevant authorities could determine how the alleged incident occurred and whether food safety norms were violated. Until then, the matter continues to generate public attention online while raising broader concerns about hygiene and quality control in food establishments.
