India-Australia CECA took centre stage as Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Australia-India CEOs Forum and the Economic Roadmap Business Event in Melbourne. He urged Australian companies to see India as a long-term investment destination and stressed that an early conclusion of the trade agreement would benefit both countries.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s strong economic growth, policy reforms, digital transformation, and expanding manufacturing sector. He said these developments have created new opportunities for global investors across technology, clean energy, education, agriculture, critical minerals, and innovation.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese joined the event and described India-Australia ties as “never been more consequential.” Business leaders and CEOs from both countries also participated in discussions focused on expanding economic and strategic cooperation.
During his Australia visit, Prime Minister Modi also met former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. The leaders discussed the long-standing friendship between India and Australia and explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations further.
The India-Australia CECA is expected to play a key role in boosting trade, investment, and strategic partnerships. Analysts believe the agreement could provide fresh momentum to economic collaboration between the two countries.
