A 27-year-old man allegedly entered a school and shot his former girlfriend before killing himself. Police said the incident occurred Monday morning at Children’s Academy School in UP Lakhimpur Kheri. The attack shocked students, teachers, and staff members who witnessed the incident. Authorities identified the teacher as 26-year-old Nishat Fatima, who had taught at the school for around one year. Police said Fatima and Mohammad Saud previously had a relationship, which she had recently ended. Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the shooting and the events before the attack.

UP: Man Allegedly Took Teacher Upstairs Before Opening Fire
Police said Saud arrived at the school around 11:30 am with a pistol concealed inside his bag. He reportedly called Fatima downstairs before taking her toward an upper-floor corridor. A staff member followed the pair as they moved upstairs, according to a senior police official. During their conversation, Saud allegedly pulled out the weapon and shot Fatima in the head. He then turned the gun on himself and died at the scene. Police reached the school soon after staff members alerted them about the gunshots. Officials are now investigating the sequence of events inside the school.
CCTV footage reportedly captured Saud dragging Fatima by her arm toward the upper floor. Several young students watched the incident as the pair moved through the school premises. The footage showed Fatima apparently resisting while Saud continued pulling her upstairs. Eyewitnesses told AajTak that they heard four rounds during the incident. The sudden gunfire created panic among students, teachers, and other school employees. Staff members immediately alerted the authorities after realizing the seriousness of the situation. Police teams subsequently arrived and secured the area while beginning their preliminary investigation.

Police Examine Security Measures and School Access
Police said Children’s Academy School accommodates students up to Class 5. Investigators are examining CCTV recordings to understand how Saud entered the premises with a weapon.
