Red Fort Blast Link: 4 Doctors Under NIA Lens

The NIA and Jammu & Kashmir Police raided Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad on Wednesday after identifying it as a hub for terror-linked individuals operating under professional cover. The college, once known for its green campus on Delhi-NCR’s outskirts, has now become the focal point of the Red Fort blast investigation that killed 10 people earlier this week. Investigators placed four doctors — Dr. Umar Un-Nabi, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganaei, Dr. Shaheen Shahid, and Dr. Nisar-ul-Hassan — under scrutiny for alleged connections to the terror module. Authorities revealed that Dr. Nisar-ul-Hassan, who was dismissed in 2022 by the J&K administration under Article 311(2)(C) for endangering state security, had been working at Al-Falah Medical College. His dismissal order claimed he used the Doctors Association of Kashmir, which he led, to spread secessionist propaganda with Pakistani backing.

NIA Hunts Missing Doctor; Al-Falah Denies Involvement

Police officials said Nisar took refuge at Al-Falah University under a new identity, raising questions of either gross negligence or complicity in his recruitment. Hassan has remained missing since Monday’s blast. On Wednesday, Al-Falah University Vice Chancellor Bhupinder Kaur clarified that the institution had no link to the arrested doctors involved in the Faridabad terror module or the Delhi Red Fort blast beyond their official employment. She stated that the university stored no chemicals such as ammonium nitrate and was fully cooperating with security agencies in the investigation. Kaur, however, declined to comment on Hassan’s termination.
