An e-rickshaw driver’s son from a small Rajasthan village achieved an extraordinary academic milestone through determination and discipline. Inderjeet secured OBC NCL rank 1040 in JEE Advanced 2026 after preparing with limited resources. His family earns less than Rs 1 lakh annually, yet they continuously supported his educational ambitions. He studied in a village where proper healthcare, clean water supply, and modern infrastructure remained inadequate for residents. Despite difficult living conditions, he stayed focused on his dream of becoming an engineer and changing circumstances.

From a Rajasthan Village to IIT: Inderjeet’s Inspiring Journey

Inderjeet studied in a local village school until Class 9 without proper awareness about competitive entrance examinations. During Class 10, he changed schools and discovered information about IIT and the JEE examination process. Senior students introduced him to engineering opportunities and encouraged him to prepare seriously for national-level examinations. Their guidance inspired him to pursue engineering and work toward securing admission into a prestigious Indian Institute of Technology. From that moment onward, he dedicated himself completely toward academic excellence and long-term career success.

Financial difficulties prevented Inderjeet from joining expensive offline coaching institutes available in larger Indian cities and towns. Instead, he relied on affordable online classes and self-study using digital educational resources available through internet platforms. Frequent electricity failures and insufficient mobile data initially created major obstacles during his daily preparation schedule at home. His father suggested studying at a nearby village library offering free internet access, uninterrupted electricity, tables, and chairs. The library eventually became his permanent study centre where he spent several disciplined hours preparing for examinations.

After appearing for JEE in 2025, Inderjeet felt dissatisfied with his performance and decided to take a drop year. He followed a strict study schedule, beginning his mornings early and practising mathematics problems before sunrise regularly. Throughout the day, he concentrated intensely on physics, chemistry, and mathematics while avoiding distractions from surrounding circumstances. He admitted facing several moments where low test scores created doubts regarding his IIT admission dream and future. However, he refused to surrender and repeatedly reminded himself that “demotivation” never existed within his personal dictionary.

Inderjeet now hopes to pursue BTech studies at IIT Roorkee and build a successful career in artificial intelligence. He dreams about working for global technology companies like Google or Microsoft within advanced machine learning and innovation sectors. He believes students from villages can also crack competitive examinations successfully without depending entirely on expensive coaching institutions. According to him, confidence, dedication, consistency, and disciplined online learning can help determined students achieve remarkable educational success nationwide. His family celebrated emotionally after hearing his result, while Inderjeet proudly realised that his lifelong dream finally became reality.
