    Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s IPL 2026 campaign has come under scrutiny as the Rajasthan Royals opener struggles to match the explosive form of his opening partner, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. While Jaiswal has scored a respectable 426 runs this season, his average of 32.77 and strike rate of 153.23 have looked modest compared to the extraordinary standards set by the Royals’ batting unit.

In contrast, Sooryavanshi has emerged as the standout performer of the season, leading the Orange Cap race with 680 runs at a stunning strike rate of over 240. The 15-year-old sensation has consistently provided blazing starts for Rajasthan Royals, turning the gap between the two openers into one of the biggest talking points of the campaign.

Jaiswal Changing Role at RR Under Spotlight

Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif reflected on Jaiswal’s dip in form, recalling how the left-hander once played a similarly dominant role at the top of the order. Kaif noted that although Jaiswal may not have hit as many sixes in previous seasons, he regularly maintained a high strike rate and kept bowlers under pressure with aggressive strokeplay.

Kaif also pointed out that Sooryavanshi’s extraordinary performances have pushed Jaiswal into an unfamiliar supporting role this season. Despite the imbalance in impact between the two openers, the former India batter backed Jaiswal to rediscover his best form and make a strong comeback in the remainder of the tournament.
