    Bringing festive cheer ahead of Diwali, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced a 20% bonus and ex-gratia for employees in the ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories working in state public sector undertakings (PSUs). The move aims to reward the service of lakhs of workers across key government departments and corporations. The announcement was made on Monday and follows the state’s tradition of offering bonuses to government staff during the festival season.

    Lakhs of Workers Across Key Departments to 20% Benefit

    The bonus will benefit employees in departments like TANGEDCO, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, state transport undertakings, the Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, and the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Drainage Board. These workers are responsible for vital public services and play an essential role in keeping systems running smoothly. The announcement is expected to benefit lakhs of employees and their families across Tamil Nadu.

    The state government has instructed all departments to ensure timely disbursement of the bonus and ex-gratia before Diwali. Department heads have been directed to complete verification and process payments without delay. This ensures that employees can plan their festive celebrations without financial stress.
